The Meadow Glamping will re-open on Monday 12th April ’21!
(please note our new book with confidence cancellation policy below)
We cannot wait to start our 3rd season of luxury glamping here at TMG, even more so as we will be launching (literally!) our third and final unit, The Magic Rat!
The final finishing touches are almost complete and The Rat is now nestled among the willows, happily floating on it's new home - so if you ever wanted to stay on a funky and stylish narrowboat, moored by your own private island, in a stunning setting, this may be perfect for you!
As the Covid situation is still uncertain, we have revised our cancellation policy so guests can book with confidence, knowing all bookings are now fully refundable up to 0900 the day before your scheduled arrival.
Welcome to The Meadow, nestled in a quiet corner of Broughton, Hampshire, The Meadow’s two acre setting is idyllic, peaceful and tucked away, yet still close to the convenience of this typical English country village.
Whether you prefer to take the rowing boat for a short lap around the lake, play tennis on the grass court, or sit quietly by the Wallop Brook watching the trout and ducklings cruise by, your time at The Meadow is your own to relax and enjoy the stunning setting as you wish.
You may decide to cook amazingly tasty local buffalo burgers over the fire pit under the stars or you can opt to take a short stroll to the local pub for a meal or a tipple. Perhaps then finish your evening cosying up in front of the wood burner with a hot chocolate, or a large glass of wine - the choice is yours...
Our first glamping unit, Wild Billy's is an original Showman’s Wagon built around 1890 and used for many years as an authentic travelling gypsy home. During Wild Billy’s fairground days the Wagon was used as the backstop for the coconut shy (you can still see the dents in the wood if you look closely!
He is now fully restored so you can enjoy the welcoming atmosphere of sleeping in an original wagon - this cosy palace for two is uniquely inviting and a totally romantic experience!
You now have the chance to tap in to your free spirit and experience life like a Romany, at least for a few nights anyway! Enjoy cooking on an authentic tripod over an open fire while sheltering from the weather on our covered sofa with the river just feet away - perfect! Why not try recreating an original recipe invented by Gypsy Joey Grey and loved by Romany hearts for many years?
But don’t worry, there are plenty of added home comforts to make your stay luxurious - Wild Billy has a newly fitted wood burner, a super comfy memory foam mattress and toasty warm double duck duvet with fur throw.
Imagine snuggling up in bed in the morning with a cuppa listening to the woodpecker chipping away, or peeking out into your stunning surroundings to see if you can spot our resident Kingfisher flying over the lake, or catch a glimpse of a roe deer slowly walking past on The Meadow....
Wild Billy’s is the perfect place to totally relax!

Overlooking the lake there is a beautifully original summer house where the luxurious theme continues! Decked in warm, vibrant colours inside and out and situated on decking stretching over the lake, this area is exclusively yours to use as you wish - relax on the bench while reading a book by the tranquillity of the lake, enjoy a meal on the deck, or sip a cup of tea sheltering from the elements inside the summer house.
